welcome to shn/flac by the way william.gd live is the only site i know of with direct download of files.all torrents are first seeded as shn or flac, then can be converted to what the user would like mp3 etc..i look at shn and flac files as the mother plant, which you can then take a clone of and do what you please with in the format you like.

I,ve been having problems with .shn stuff for awile now, i cannot burn them onto cd or even stream them anymore. I mainly use winamp, but have tried with other players, any suggestions?

Next, I haven't asked but a few times, but there is a request for seeds at etree (sorry don't have the link handy, but it's easy to find) for requests, but i do get some seeds when I do, might take awhile longer, but it's worth it.

And, maybe turn Dire off his chain! Sic 'em boy! Good Wolf!!!

Hey--I are a PHUD to..two...phtoo, Dire. To second Dire's point, I am using Trader's Little Helper and it converts shns to wavs very, very easily (I are an idiot), so if that is your problem, I can actually help.

The SHN stream started going bad with the recent WinAmp version 5.23. I went back to using the earlier ver. 5.21 and the problem is solved for me. It's easy to keep the (SHN, FLAC, WMA, MP-3, OGG and gapless) plugins in a ZIP folder. They go right into the WinAmp plugins sub folder.

There are websites such as www.olderversions.com, where you can find older versions of WinAmp. Try the P2P services if this doesn't work. Reverse updating to the earlier model in the case works too...

Thanks, that makes sense. It did start about the time I upgraded, just didn't put 2 and 2 together. I'll try going back to the earlier version.

why are you havin problems with shn - are you usin MKW's shn conversion software??? easy to convert to wave from that program - i am not familiar with other though - so wont be much help other than with his simple program.

as for my chain??? - i like newbies (ie dancinbears) - i just like to keep out the ones that abuse my pals for stupid reasons - gives me a chance to have some immature snarling fun - looks like hippo boy (or whatever his name was) went back to the swamp - i mean an attack against tiger over sytnax and grammar - cmon, i got a phd and i'm the worst offender in that catagory. i tried to be nice after the first warning - i didnt' that i was THAT bad

Cool; I'll get back to you with more once I run some addt'l analysis of your verb usage and sentence structure as some of it was a bit suspect.

Too shea! (hope that's the right 'two')

William Tell, you musta (purposeful bad pronunciation here in celebration of recent goings on) had a little something extra in your today's turkey. Your (frequently used in place of the correct "you're" and i use it here for example of how awfully, awfully bad some of the folks here on the forum with their grammar; for shame) really hitting all the funny bones with your posts today! I'm lovin' it. But to reply to your questions, or at least your question about early era GD, you're mostly correct that the torrent sites don't have a lot of this era active at present. A lot of it (i suspect) already has been torrented (borrowing your verb form here) and the seeds are currently inactive. However, i do know that over at Lossless Legs (www.shnflac.net), there are plenty of '68 & '69 shows being seeded. I myself have grabbed a number of them since i, like yourself, just absolutely love those years. As i've always said, you can never have too much of that era. And by the by, if there are any shows you are looking for in particular, and cannot find, i have no doubt that many on this forum will be happy to send your way via US Post. E-mail me if there's something that you are jonesing for right now but can't seem to find at the torrent sites and i'll dig around and see what comes up.

be warned william, gdlive.com has a tendency to disappear every now and again, out of the blue and up to months at time.

Whoa...guess my effort wasn't wasted as I worked diligently and I am 'done' with respect to my era...Thanks for the tip.
